Abhishek Bachchan And Siddharth Anand To Collaborate For Horror Film?
Variety India reported that Siddharth Anand will produce this horror film under his Marflix banner, while a close associate of his will direct the film starring Abhishek Bachchan. The film, yet to be titled, is described as a folklore-based horror thriller focusing on an emotional father-daughter relationship and envisioned as a large-scale, VFX-heavy drama aimed at offering a unique theatrical experience in the Indian horror genre.
Abhishek, who has never ventured into horror, will reportedly play a character-driven role requiring a raw and emotionally intense performance. Siddharth Anand intends to create this film in a mainstream commercial space, aiming to bring renewed attention to the horror genre, which has recently leaned more towards horror-comedies. The film is set to begin production in September 2026.
Siddharth Anand And Abhishek Bachchan’s Collaborations
Siddharth Anand and Abhishek Bachchan have enjoyed a good rapport over the years, with Abhishek even making a cameo in Siddharth’s directorial debut ‘Salaam Namaste’ (2005), starring Saif Ali Khan and Preity Zinta. Their bond has only grown stronger during ‘King,’ and this new horror project will further solidify their professional relationship.
Abhishek was last seen in Kaalidhar Laapata, in which he portrayed a middle-aged man experiencing memory loss. He will next be seen as the antagonist in Shah Rukh Khan starrer King, which features a star-studded cast including Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Rani Mukerji, Anil Kapoor, Arshad Warsi, Jaideep Ahlawat, Raghav Juyal, and Abhay Varma. The film is set for a Christmas 2026 weekend release.
Apart from this, Abhishek will also be seen in Riteish Deshmukh’s historical epic ‘Raja Shivaji,’ slated to hit theatres on May 1, 2026.
