A shocking betrayal has rocked Tamil actor Suriya’s household. His personal security officer, Anthony George Prabhu, was allegedly duped of Rs 42 lakh by Suriya’s domestic help and her family. Chennai
police say the accused have also scammed multiple other victims, reportedly taking nearly Rs 2 crore in total.
How the Scam Unfolded
Police reports reveal that Sulochana, a domestic worker at Suriya’s home, along with her son, allegedly lured Prabhu into a fake investment scheme. To gain his trust, they reportedly returned 30 grams of gold for a ₹1 lakh investment. Convinced, Prabhu transferred around ₹42 lakh between January and February this year.
Things turned sour in March when Prabhu asked for his money back. The accused reportedly went silent and disappeared. Investigations later revealed that the family had used the same scheme to target several others across Chennai.
FIR Filed and Arrests Made
Following a complaint in July, police registered an FIR and launched a search operation. Four family members—Balaji, Bhaskar, Sulochana, and Vijayalakshmi—were traced and arrested. They are now in judicial custody while police continue investigating to identify additional victims.
After the incident came to light, Suriya reportedly terminated the domestic help. The actor has stayed silent publicly, but the arrests have offered some relief to the victims.
