Iran’s Supreme National Security Council confirmed a two-week ceasefire. However, the pause is temporary and depends on further negotiations.
Meanwhile, President Donald Trump told AFP that he believes China got Iran to negotiate with the United States.

Iran has presented a wide-ranging 10-point plan to end the conflict. The central demand is a complete and permanent halt to the war against Iran, with no time limit, along with an end to all regional conflicts.
Another major focus is the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, a vital route for global oil shipments. Iran has also asked for firm guarantees to ensure that navigation through the strait remains free and secure.
As per reports, senior Trump administration officials told Israel that the US will firmly insist on the removal of Iran’s nuclear material, no uranium enrichment, and elimination of the ballistic missile threat in the upcoming two-week negotiations.

Alongside the proposal, Iran has indicated it will allow safe maritime movement through the Strait of Hormuz during the talks, though this will be coordinated with its armed forces and may be subject to technical limits. It remains uncertain whether this will lead to a full easing of restrictions.
Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the arrangement is conditional, underlining that the ceasefire depends on progress in negotiations.
On the other side, Trump has said the United States is ready to pause planned strikes for two weeks, linking this step to Iran reopening the strait fully and safely. He described the move as a “double-sided ceasefire” meant to create space for diplomacy.
