For plant lovers, a money plant is almost a must-have at home. Not only does it add a refreshing touch of greenery, but it is also believed to bring positive energy.
While this hardy plant does not demand
much care, its leaves can sometimes start to wilt or turn yellow. With a little attention, however, your money plant can remain a symbol of freshness, beauty, and prosperity throughout the year, even in the summer heat.
Tips For A Healthy Money Plant
Select The Right Cutting: Choose a slightly firm, long stem from a healthy money plant and cut about 1 inch below the node. Avoid cutting too close to the base, as this can increase the risk of rotting.
Prepare The Stem: Remove all leaves from the portion of the stem that will be submerged in water. This keeps the water clean and prevents the stem from decaying, helping the plant stay green for longer.
Fill The Bottle Properly: Add enough water to cover the node, leaving about one-quarter of the bottle empty. This space ensures oxygen circulation, which keeps the plant healthy.
Change The Water Regularly: Replace the water daily for the first five days, then every 10–15 days thereafter. This prevents root rot and supports long-term growth.
Optional Nutrient Boost: You may add 4–5 grains of DAP fertiliser to speed up growth. However, the plant also thrives beautifully in plain water without any fertiliser.
Choose The Right Spot: Keep the plant where it gets indirect sunlight or gentle daylight. Avoid direct sun, which can scorch the leaves, while soft light will keep them glossy.
With the right care, a money plant not only beautifies your home in a bottle or pot but also brings fresh, natural energy into the space. It’s a living symbol of greenery, good vibes, and financial well-being.
