The IPL 2026 mini-auction wrapped up in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday, with all 77 players on the list finding buyers. Franchises shelled out a combined Rs 215.45 crore and Kolkata Knight Riders finished as the biggest
spenders, no surprise, given they came in with a purse more than Rs 20 crore bigger than their closest competitors.
Inaugural edition champions Rajasthan Royals purchased nine players at the IPL 2026 mini-auction, with Ravi Bishnoi being their biggest buy at Rs 7.2 crore.
Railways batter Ravi Singh was bought at Rs 95 lakh, Jharkhand pacer Sushant Mishra at Rs 90 lakh, Kerala spinner Vignesh Puthur and Karnataka leg-spinner Yash Raj Punja, Hyderabad opener Aman Rao, Bengal medium-pacer Brijesh Sharma for Rs 30 lakh each, star India pacer Kuldeep Sen for Rs 75 lakh and New Zealand pacer Adam Milne for Rs 2.4 crore.
Given that there are just two big-ticket buys in Bishnoi and Milne, one would expect only this duo to form a part of Rajasthan’s playing XI in IPL 2026. But Milne can be trumped by Jofra Archer in the XI, although everything depends on the latter’s fitness.
Yashasvi Jaiswal, RR’s highest run-scorer in IPL 2025, and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi are expected to open, with no changes needed to make to the fiery young duo, known especially for their ability to put up big scores in the powerplay.
Riyan Parag, who might be the captain for the upcoming season after Sanju Samson’s trade to the Chennai Super Kings, might be promoted to 3, although No. 4 is his preferred position. He would be followed by Dhruv Jurel, Shimron Hetmyer and Donovan Ferreira, who was traded in from the Delhi Capitals.
Next would be Ravindra Jadeja, who was traded in from CSK and if not Riyan, the veteran allrounder might be the captain of RR in IPL 2026.
Yudhvir Singh, Tushar Deshpande, Bishnoi and Jofra Archer, RR’s second-highest wicket-taker in IPL 2025, would follow.
