John Abraham Birthday Special: The dashing Bollywood star John Abraham is all set to celebrate his 53rd birthday today, on December 17, 2025. Since making his debut in 2003 with Jism, the actor has remained
a formidable presence in the industry for over two decades, carving his own path as an outsider.
Not only do his films make waves at the box office, but John is also widely admired for his unwavering dedication to fitness. Even in his 50s, his impressive physique continues to inspire fans and fitness enthusiasts alike, cementing his status as one of Bollywood’s most enduring icons.
On his birthday, here’s a closer look at the Satyameva Jayate star’s fitness routine that keeps him in peak form.
Decoding John Abraham’s Fitness Regime
In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter last year, John Abraham shared that he has been committed to the gym for nearly 35 years and spoke about the philosophy behind his fitness journey.
He explained that his routine is a mix of different forms of training, including weight training, cardio and functional workouts.
John also described how he views fitness as a way of caring for oneself. For him, looking after the body is almost like following a religion. He emphasised that he doesn’t maintain his physique out of vanity.
He said, “I don’t do it for narcissistic reasons…like I need to have a six pack for this film or for that film. If I have it, great. If I’m fit, great!”
When he was asked whether there had ever been a day when he didn’t feel like going to the gym, John explained that he trains every single day of the week without fail. Even if he is dealing with something like a migraine or a slight fever, he still shows up and simply adjusts the intensity by lifting lighter weights instead of skipping the session entirely.
For him, the routine is not about pushing himself irresponsibly but about maintaining a sense of balance and mental clarity.
What’s The Handsome Hunk’s Diet Plan?
In a throwback 2022 interview with GQ, John also spoke about his diet. He explained that he has completely cut out dairy products and avoids items like butter, milk and cheese. He mentioned that he has stayed away from eggs for a while as well, which he considers a ‘moral’ choice.
He said, “Fitness is like a tripod; you need to have good food, good exercise, and good sleep.”
John Abraham’s Upcoming Projects
John Abraham has several exciting projects reportedly in the pipeline.
A few months ago, there was strong buzz about him being considered for a modern-day adaptation of the epic Mahabharata, though no official confirmation has been made so far.
He is also expected to feature in Munkeeman and in Rohit Shetty’s upcoming biographical film based on former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria.
Additionally, there has been talk of a potential spin-off centred on his character Jim from Pathaan, along with reports of a comedy sequel tentatively titled Garam Masala 2.
Reports also suggest that he may return to the big screen with the third instalment of the hit Force franchise, although formal announcements are still awaited.
