The Bengaluru Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) has introduced a new weekly travel pass.
Designed especially for frequent users of the Vajra bus service, this move is part of BMTC’s broader effort
to boost public transport usage in the city.
What Does The Pass Offer?
Starting this Friday, commuters can purchase a Rs 750 weekly pass that allows unlimited travel on Vajra, ordinary, and express BMTC buses. However, toll charges are not included in this pass.
As per Hindustan Times, those using Vajra Express services will need to pay an additional Rs 10 service charge per ride, along with standard toll fees.
How Can Commuters Buy This Pass?
The BMTC has made the process simple and digital. Commuters can purchase the weekly pass via the Tummoc mobile app, ensuring easy access without waiting in long queues. However, this pass does not apply to Vayu Vajra (airport buses) or any other special BMTC services.
What’s New On The Road?
Alongside the pass, BMTC has also introduced a brand-new non-AC bus route—Route 600-A. This service connects Banashankari to AECS Layout, offering relief to daily travellers across key points such as:
- Kudlu Gate
- Bommanahalli
- BTM Layout
- Ragigudda
This route is designed to improve last-mile connectivity in some of Bengaluru’s most traffic-heavy areas. Currently, one bus is operating on this route, making 10 trips a day—five in each direction.
