Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday marked 25 years in public service, expressing gratitude to the people of India and saying he bows down before them for repeatedly choosing him to serve the country.
Marking the milestone, PM Modi recalled that his journey at the helm of a government began on October 7, 2001, when he took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. He said he had never imagined at the time that he would reach such a milestone.
“When I took the oath as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, I never thought that I would ever reach this milestone,” PM Modi said.
The Prime Minister added, “Today, I have completed 25 years of continuous service. This is the result of the people’s constant blessings and support.”
Expressing his gratitude to citizens, PM Modi said, “I express my gratitude to all the people of the country.”
He also reflected on the electoral mandates he received during the 25-year period, saying that people repeatedly chose him to serve them in both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections.
“During this period, whether it was Assembly elections or Lok Sabha elections, the people chose me to serve them. Today, I pay tribute to the democracy and Constitution of India,” PM Modi said.
He added, “I bow down in front of the people of my country.”
