After the success of Dhurandhar, fans have been eagerly waiting for updates on Ranveer Singh’s next big-screen outing, Pralay. The actor is set to headline filmmaker Jai Mehta’s ambitious zombie survival

Ranveer Singh To Shoot For Pralay In Australia Later This Year
As per the report, Ranveer has already begun preparing for the project which is said to demand extensive physical and emotional training due to its scale and genre. A source told the entertainment portal, “Ranveer will start shooting for the Jai Mehta directorial in the second half of 2026. The shoot is planned in Australia, and he has already kick-started prep. This is a film that requires intense physical and emotional preparation, given the scale and genre.”
Pinkvilla reports that the film’s pre-production is currently underway in Australia, where Jai Mehta and his team are working closely with technicians who have previously been associated with international projects. The makers are reportedly focusing on building the film’s expansive post-apocalyptic world before production begins.
As per the report, Pralay will rely heavily on visual effects, with the writing team continuing to fine-tune the screenplay and the film’s larger zombie universe. Ranveer is also said to be actively involved in creative discussions during the development process.
Reportedly mounted on a budget of around ₹300 crore, Pralay could become the most expensive standalone film of Ranveer Singh’s career. While the makers are yet to make an official announcement, reports suggest that Kalyani Priyadarshan has been cast as the female lead, marking her Bollywood debut.
Set in a dystopian version of Mumbai, Pralay is said to revolve around a married couple fighting for survival amid a zombie outbreak, promising a fresh take on the genre in Indian cinema.
Meanwhile, last week, Ranveer was spotted by the paparazzi as he exited Hansal Mehta’s office. The actor, who has been keeping a low profile, was seen with his face hidden and avoided interacting with the paparazzi as he made his way to the car.
