upcoming film Ranabaali has become even more special. This is expected to be the rumoured couple’s first release together after their speculated wedding.
Ranabaali is scheduled to release in multiple languages on September 11, 2026. The makers recently revealed its first look.
What Is Ranabaali About?
Earlier known as VD14, Ranabaali is a period war drama set in 19th-century India. The film is inspired by real historical events that took place between 1854 and 1878. The first look shows the brutal impact of British colonial rule, including drought, devastation, and the suffering of common people.
Vijay Deverakonda’s Rugged New Look
The glimpse introduces Vijay Deverakonda as Ranabaali, a fierce leader who rises from a land described as “cursed”. Vijay’s intense new look and commanding screen presence have already generated strong buzz among fans.
Rashmika Mandanna plays the role of Jayamma in the film. She reunites with Vijay after their hit movies Geetha Govindam and Dear Comrade. Their strong on-screen chemistry has always been loved by fans, making their comeback together in Ranabaali one of the film’s biggest highlights.
Strong Team Behind the Film
Ranabaali is directed by Rahul Sankrityan, who is known for the period drama Shyam Singha Roy. The film is produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the production house behind big hits like Rangasthalam, Janatha Garage, and the Pushpa franchise. The music is composed by Ajay-Atul, famous for popular albums such as Singham, Agneepath, and Sairat.
Adding an international touch, Hollywood actor Arnold Vosloo, famous for his role as Imhotep in The Mummy franchise, plays the chief antagonist, British officer Sir Theodore Hector.
