Salman Khan and Nayanthara’s upcoming film with South filmmaker Vamshi Paidipally is already among the most anticipated theatrical releases of 2027. While the makers are yet to officially reveal the title,
the film has generated strong curiosity ever since the casting came to light.
The shoot has now begun, with the team recently completing a schedule in Mumbai. According to reports, the makers are now preparing to move to Manali for the next leg of filming.
Rajpal Yadav To Play A Multi-Shaded Role
Apart from Salman Khan and Nayanthara in the lead roles, the film also stars Rajpal Yadav. While the actor is widely known for his comic timing, reports suggest that his part in this film will not be limited to humour.
Rajpal is expected to play a multi-shaded character, giving him scope to explore a different side beyond his usual comic space. His presence adds another interesting layer to the film’s ensemble.
Who Will Play The Villain?
While Salman and Nayanthara are confirmed as the lead pair, there is still no official word on who will play the antagonist. Reports have suggested that the makers are considering either Akshaye Khanna or Fahadh Faasil for the villain’s role.
However, there has been no confirmation from the team so far. If either of the two actors comes on board, the film could get a major boost in terms of dramatic intensity, given both Akshaye and Fahadh’s strong screen presence.
Salman Khan-Nayanthara Film Release Date
Salman Khan’s fans did not get to see him on the big screen during Eid this year, but the actor is expected to return to his favourite festive window next year. The Vamshi Paidipally directorial is slated to release on Eid 2027.
However, the film will not have a solo run during the festival weekend. Prabhas and Triptii Dimri’s Spirit, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, is scheduled to release on March 5, 2027.
There had been reports that Spirit might be postponed, but the makers recently confirmed that the film will arrive as planned. This sets the stage for a major box office clash between Salman Khan’s yet-untitled film and Prabhas’ Spirit during the Eid 2027 window.
