Heavy rainfall lashed Mumbai on Thursday, with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) predicting more rainfall in Maharashtra’s capital. Due to the continued overnight rainfall, several parts of the city
are experiencing waterlogging in certain areas, affecting traffic.
Light to moderate spells of rain are very likely to occur at isolated places in the district of Palghar, Thane, Mumbai, Raigad, Ratnagiri and Sindhudurg during the next three to four hours, the weather agency reported.
According to IMD, a yellow alert will be in place in Mumbai city till August 18. There is no warning for August 16. However, residents are advised to stay alert and careful.

Several parts of Mumbai and MMR are witnessing rainfall since Wednesday evening. The weather agency predicted that the rains are to intensify in the next 12 hours.
