An Indian professional residing in Singapore has sparked a discussion over the unseen cost of success abroad. A man named Aman posted a video on Instagram, reflecting on his everyday schedule in Singapore.
He highlighted that his life had taken a sudden turn after moving to Singapore in ways he hadn’t anticipated.
Aman said that although his income has increased fivefold after moving to Singapore, his happiness has decreased proportionally. He mentioned that he works as a senior machine learning engineer in Singapore. At the same time, Aman explained how lifestyle in Singapore differs from that in India.
While he lauded the level of cleanliness and hygiene in Singapore, he highlighted that he misses things like the street food, which he enjoyed in India. Despite all the amenities, he said that it feels like life there is artificial.

Lack of freedom
As he drew a comparison between his life in Singapore and that in India, he felt that there is a lack of personal freedom. Explaining his point further, he explained that he owned a car in India and used to enjoy spontaneous, long drives. However, it is next to impossible to own a car in Singapore.
He also underlined that while the public transportation system in the country is top-notch, there is lack of a sense of personal freedom.
