Rohit Sharma struggled with the bat on the second day of the Vijay Hazare Trophy, getting out for a golden duck against Uttarakhand on Friday.
Despite failing to trouble the scorers, Rohit took a smart
catch in the slip cordon.
In the third over of the second innings, Kamal Singh edged a ball from Shardul Thakur straight to Rohit, who took a simple catch in first slip.

Just days earlier, Rohit had made a successful return to the tournament, smashing an unbeaten 155 off 94 balls for Mumbai against Sikkim, featuring 18 fours and nine sixes.
Rohit had dismantled an inexperienced Sikkim bowling attack with a stunning 94-ball 155 on his return to List A cricket, leading Mumbai to an eight-wicket victory in their opening Group C match of the Vijay Hazare Trophy on Wednesday.
A near capacity crowd of around 20,000 fans celebrated Christmas Eve by witnessing the ‘HitMan’ carnage, which included 18 fours and nine sixes, as Mumbai chased down the target of 237 in just 30.3 overs.
To be honest, there wasn’t much to commend about Sikkim’s bowling unit. Palzor Tamang, Kranthi Kumar, Gurinder Singh, and Ankur Malik appeared overawed or clueless from the moment Rohit took guard.
It began with a trademark pull-shot over mid-wicket off Kranthi for a boundary, followed by a swivel pull shot off his hips.
The pacers lacked potency, and twice, seamer Palzor’s 125 kmph deliveries were swept fine behind the square for sixes.
Rohit executed a few late cuts against the spinners, utilising the pace of their deliveries. He was dropped twice but remained undeterred, consistently finding ways to bisect the gaps at will.
Despite a slow start in the Australia series, where he scored just eight runs in Perth, Rohit has shown consistency, accumulating 495 runs in his next seven innings at an average of 99.00, including two centuries and three fifties.
