If there’s one film audiences can’t stop talking about, it’s Dhurandhar. The Ranveer Singh, Akshaye Khanna starrer has been smashing one box-office record after another.
Riding high on the success, veteran
actor Rakesh Bedi, who played politician Jameel Jamali in Aditya Dhar’s spy-action thriller, spoke about a prediction he had made before the release: “Dhurandhar is not going to raise the bar, this is going to break the bar.” And right now, it’s hard to disagree.
He also shared a unique fan reaction that proves how Dhurandhar has taken over audiences to the point that they can’t even wait for the sequel.
Rakesh Bedi On Record-Breaking Success Of Dhurandhar
Taking to Instagram, Bedi shared a video reacting to the film’s performance. He said, “Doston Dhurandhar to rukne ki naam hi nahi le raha hai, chalti hi jaa rahi hai, chalti hi jaa rahi hai. Film ke release ke pehle maine ek statement diy thi ki, ‘Dhurandhar is not going to raise the bar, this is going to break the bar.’ because people are going to see this film ‘bar-bar’, lagatar, aur wohi ho raha hain.”
He added, “Log itna pyaar barsha raha hai ki puchiye mat. Itna ki Tsunami hai. Main kahunga ki this film is like my friend’s restaurant in Delhi, Juggernaut.
The actor expressed his gratitude for the massive appreciation the team has been receiving, but highlighted one fan’s response in particular. He recalled, “Ek lady ne ye mujhe bataya ki film dekhne ke naad unko gussa aya ki film kyu khatam kyu hui. Aur film dekhne ki baad unko dil mein aya ki aaj main so jau aur sidha March 19 ko uthu, jab iska agala part ayega. Haina kamal ki baat?”
He further thanked the director and the makers of Dhurandhar, saying , “Ye ek international rage ban chuka hai ye film, jo ki mere khayal se Indian cinema history mein kabhi nahi hua. Itna rage, itna pyaar, itni bari tsunami ki puchiye maat. Well I thank JioStudio, I thank the entire team of Dhurandhar and especially the director Aditya Dhar. Hats off to you Aditya. Love you brother.”

Dhurandhar’s Box Office
Dhurandhar has collected Rs 517 crore net in its first 16 days in theatres. According to Sacnilk, the film earned Rs 38.5 crore net on Sunday, pushing its domestic total to Rs 555.72 crore.
On the same day, Dhurandhar overtook the lifetime collections of Sunny Deol’s 2024 blockbuster Gadar 2 (Rs 525 crore net). It has also crossed the final tallies of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (Rs 543 crore) and Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal (Rs 553 crore).
Internationally, the film ranked among the world’s top five releases in its second weekend, as per Comscore. With an overseas gross of $18 million, Dhurandhar has crossed Rs 750 crore worldwide as of Friday and is on track to enter the Rs 800-crore club today.
