Kartik Aaryan, who was last seen in Tu Mera Main Teri Main Teri Tu Mera alongside Ananya Panday, has exciting films lined up for his fans. One of his films that was announced in 2021 was put on a back
burner. It seems like it is back on track now. The film titled Captain India was announced with Hansal Mehta earlier. Now, the latest report suggests that Chak De! India director Shimit Amin has stepped in. He will direct the film with Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series backing it.
Kartik Aaryan’s Captain India back on track
Recently, Bollywood Hungama reported that Bhushan Kumar, who has collaborated with Kartik on films like Pati Patni Aur Woh, Sonu Ke Titu Ki Sweety, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, and Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3, will be backing Captain India. After their successful stint to date, they have joined hands yet again. Apart from this, the report also claims that Shimit Amin will return to the director’s chair after a gap of 17 years with Captain India.
A source told the portal, “Captain India is written and produced by Harman Baweja. Now, T-Series has also joined as a producer, as they saw potential in the story, Kartik’s casting and Shimit Amin’s association as the director. The recce has been completed and the film is expected to go floors in the second quarter of 2026.” Reportedly, the film will be shot in India and Morocco.
Earlier, Shimit has directed films like Ab Tak Chhappan with Nana Patekar, Chak De! India starring Shah Rukh Khan and the Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Rocket Singh: Salesman Of The Year. All three films are quite diverse from each other, and it would be interesting to see how Captain India shapes up!
Meanwhile, on the work front for Kartik, he also has Dharma Productions’ Nagzilla, which is scheduled to release this year in August. He is currently shooting for the film in Delhi. Apart from this, he has an untitled love story by Anurag Basu, co-starring Sreeleela, and Kabir Khan’s next in the pipeline.
