Lakhs of young people are eagerly anticipating the results of the UGC NET December 2025 exam. The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to announce the results for the December session soon on the official
website, ugcnet.nta.nic.in. The NTA has not disclosed the exact date for the UGC NET 2025 results yet. Usually, the NTA releases results alongside or shortly after the final answer key.
Candidates who took the NET exam will be able to check their scorecards using their login credentials. The exam was conducted in multiple shifts at various centres across the country, requiring the normalisation of scores. Along with the UGC NET results, subject-wise and category-wise cut-offs will also be released, determining the number of candidates who qualify for Assistant Professorship and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF).
When Will The UGC NET December 2025 Result Be Released?
The answer key objection window has already closed. Based on various media reports and NTA’s past record, the results for the December session could be available on the portal at any time now. There is speculation among candidates that the scorecard link may be activated by the end of this week or in the coming days. However, candidates should rely solely on official announcements.

UGC NET Cut-Off
Along with the UGC NET results, the NTA will release the cut-off list, which will vary for different subjects and categories (General, OBC, SC, ST, EWS). There are two eligibility categories: “Assistant Professor only” and “JRF and Assistant Professor.” The cut-off for JRF is typically much higher than for Assistant Professor. Given the difficulty level of this year’s paper, the cut-off may fluctuate compared to previous sessions.
Normalisation Of Scores
The UGC NET exam was conducted over multiple days and shifts. Therefore, the NTA uses a percentile-based normalisation process to ensure that candidates are not disadvantaged by difficult questions in one shift. Under this method, candidates’ raw scores are converted into normalised scores or percentiles, and the final merit list is prepared based on these percentiles. This process ensures fair evaluation of all candidates.
After the results are declared, successful candidates will be issued e-certificates. The certificate for eligibility as an Assistant Professor is valid for life, while the JRF award letter is valid for three years. All these documents are also made available digitally on DigiLocker.
