Indian Railways is set to introduce a new sleeper version of the Vande Bharat Express. Since its launch in 2019, the Vande Bharat series has transformed train travel in India with its speed and comfort.

At the 16th International Railway Equipment Exhibition (IREE) 2025 in New Delhi, Kinet Railway Solutions, an Indo-Russian joint venture, unveiled a full-size model of the First AC coach from this new version.
The design of the new sleeper Vande Bharat looks modern, sleek and passenger-friendly. Sharing the video on Instagram, a content creator said, “Inside the sleeper version of the Vande Bharat, there’s only one word after seeing its interior: amazing. The prototype has been designed by Kinet, with an operational speed of 160 kmph and a maximum speed of 180 kmph. Soon, you’ll see it running on the tracks. Which City Will The Train Start From?
While the routes are not yet finalised, reports suggest that the train will run between Delhi and Patna, catering to the high passenger demand on this route.
Which Company Is Manufacturing The Train?
The Vande Bharat Sleeper train has been built by BEML (Bharat Earth Movers Limited), using advanced technology from the Chennai-based, Integral Coach Factory (ICF). The train will have a total of 16 coaches, which include AC First Class, AC 2 Tier and AC 3 Tier compartments.

The new Vande Bharat sleeper train is expected to leave Patna at 8 pm and reach Delhi by 7:30 am, with several stops along the way. Most stations are likely to have short halts of 2 to 3 minutes, but in busy stations such as Delhi Cantt and Jaipur, the train may stop a bit longer.

Ticket fares will vary depending on the route. However, prices are expected to be 10–15% higher than the Rajdhani Express.

Modern Features And Safety Upgrades
According to earlier updates, the Vande Bharat Sleeper trains are being designed with modern features. They will include automatic doors, comfortable sleeping berths, Wi-Fi service, and interiors reminiscent of an airplane cabin. Each train will be able to carry around 1,128 passengers. For safety, the trains are equipped with crash buffers, deformation tubes and fire-resistant walls between coaches. Before commencing public operations, the Research Designs and Standards Organisation (RDSO) will conduct thorough trial runs and grant final approval only after verifying every safety and performance detail.
