Virat Kohli is the fastest batter in the world to score 28,000 runs in international cricket. The former India captain broke Sachin Tendulkar’s record by scoring his 28,000th run in international cricket for India in 624
innings. Kohli needed 25 runs in the ongoing first India-New Zealand ODI in Vadodara to complete 28,000 runs in international cricket, and he achieved the objective in the 13th over of the 301-run chase at BCA Stadium.
During his playing days, Tendulkar scored his 28,000th run for India in his 644th innings, whereas Sri Lanka’s Kumar Sangakkara needed 666 innings to reach the 28,000-run mark in international cricket.

650 sixes for Rohit
Rohit Sharma entered his name in the history books on Sunday (January 11) by becoming the first batter in the world to hit 650 sixes in international cricket. Rohit, who is playing as an opener for Team India in the ongoing first ODI against New Zealand at BCA Stadium in Vadodara, slammed his 650th six in international cricket on the third ball of the seventh over of the 301-run chase.
Rohit, who holds the record of hitting the most sixes in ODIs, T20Is and international cricket, finished his Test career with 88 sixes in 67 matches, 205 sixes in 159 T20Is and has 357 sixes to his credit in 280 one-day matches.
Former West Indies skipper and legendary opener Chris Gayle is second on the list of batters with the most sixes in international cricket, and Pakistan’s Shahid Afridi takes the third position with 476 sixes in 524 matches played across formats.
