The team of Cocktail 2 hosted a grand event in Mumbai where the makers invited media and influencers, promising a surprise. Do you know what the surprise was? It was an exclusive preview of two songs from
the film, Mashooka and Tujhko. While this was a grand surprise, it wasn’t the only big reveal.
The end slate of one of the two songs shown to the media featured the trailer launch date of the film. As per an update shared with the media,the trailer of Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon starrer will be released on May 29. The film is scheduled to release in cinemas on June 19, and ahead of it, fans have been waiting quite some time for the trailer of the rom-com.
Mashooka features Shahid Kapoor romancing Kriti Sanon in Sicily, Italy, and other picturesque locations. Meanwhile, sung by Arijit Singh, Tujhko is a slow romantic track that focuses on Shahid Kapoor and Rashmika Mandanna’s story.
After both songs were unveiled, the media was asked which one they liked more, and in this competition, Mashooka won, receiving more votes than Tujhko. Pritam insisted that the team should honour the audience’s choice and release Mashooka first. Following this, Dinesh Vijan confirmed that Mashooka would be launched before Tujhko.
Cocktail 2, directed by Homi Adajania, is set to release on June 19, 2026, featuring a fresh cast led by Shahid Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Kriti Sanon. Cocktail 2 is positioned as a spiritual sequel to the 2012 hit Cocktail, which starred Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. The film has been shot across multiple locations, including Sicily in Italy and several places in Delhi and North India such as Chhatarpur, Gurugram, and South Delhi. The film is produced by Maddock Films and written by Luv Ranjan.
Recently, at Femina Beauty Awards, Kriti Sanon spoke about the comparisons between Cocktail and Cocktail 2. She said, “I’m sure a comparison is going to happen, but the good part is that this is not a sequel; it’s a franchise. So it’s more of a vibe franchise, and the characters are separate.” She also praised Rashmika Mandanna and said, “She’s just a very genuine person, kind, lovely, and warm.”
