Sonali Bendre On Working With Munawar Faruqui
Speaking to ETimes, Sonali Bendre said, “I’m truly enjoying doing the show, but I won’t deny that there is a lot of stress involved! Munawar is already familiar with this structure, but it’s all new to me. He’s so quick and sharp with his humour that I wonder if I’ll be able to keep up. This entire experience feels more like a challenge than just another assignment. But, you know what? I enjoy challenges! So I’m going all out. Fingers crossed that not only will the audience like the show, but that they will also enjoy me in my new role.”
Sonali Bendre On Why She Came On Board For Pati Patni Aur Panga
The actress said, “I’m meeting the entire cast of the show for the first time, and I must say, it’s a breath of fresh air. The world and this industry are moving at such a quick pace. What drew me to this thought was its underlying belief in the institution of marriage. The first question I asked the creators was, ‘Do you actually believe in marriage?’ Because I do. I believe that when couples go through ups and downs, having someone to stick by you every step of the way, that feeling of companionship is priceless.”
Sonali Bendre On Her Married Life With Goldie Behl
Sonali Bendre has been married to filmmaker Goldie Behl for 13 years. During the conversation, she also opened up about the “pangas” in her own marriage, noting that every relationship has its share of them.
“Previously, I would feel afraid thinking, ‘Oh God, we’re fighting!’ But now I realise there is something nice about making up later. In fact, I sometimes start conflicts because it’s entertaining! These pangas do not always require an external trigger; they occur spontaneously between a husband and wife. It’s part of the appeal of the relationship,” she said.
Sonali added, “When both people can laugh about these things and find them pleasant, it adds a lovely twist to their marriage. However, if things continue over an extended period of time, they become unhealthy. In our show, you’ll see the same lovey-dovey banter and lovely chaos among couples.”
