Northern Railway’s Lucknow division has announced an eight-day traffic and power block at Charbagh railway station from April 4-11. If you’re travelling through Lucknow in this period, here’s everything
you need to know.
Why Is This Happening?
The block has been put in place to facilitate construction work linked to a proposed concourse at the station. Work on platform number one will include shelter removal and foundation laying — part of Charbagh’s broader modernisation programme.
Which Train Is Fully Cancelled?
The Lucknow–Jhansi Memu (64702) will remain completely cancelled from April 4-11.
Which Trains Will Be Short-Terminated?
Four passenger trains operating between Lucknow, Balamau, and Shahjahanpur will be partially cancelled or short-terminated at Alamnagar during this period.
Which Trains Will Be Diverted?
Over a dozen express and mail trains will be rerouted — bypassing Lucknow Charbagh entirely and running via Aishbagh Junction or Transport Nagar instead. These include:
• Sabarmati Express
• Gorakhpur–Mumbai Express
• Barauni–Gwalior Mail
• Kashi Vishwanath Express
Will Your Platform Change?
Yes — and this one affects the most travellers. Platform changes have been announced for more than 40 trains at Lucknow station. Arrivals and departures previously scheduled on platform number one will be shifted to other platforms.
If you’re travelling through Charbagh between April 4-11, check your train’s updated platform before heading to the station.
