The Mumbai Traffic Control Room on Friday received a bomb blast threat message through its official WhatsApp number, claiming to bomb parts of the city on the occasion of Anant Chaturdashi.
According to
the details, the sender of the message claimed that multiple human bombs in vehicles were planted across the city and warned of a large-scale attack involving RDX.
The caller, identifying himself as a member of a Pakistan-based jihadi group, further alleged that 14 terrorists had entered the city.
Soon after the message was received, the police launched a probe into the details and were verifying the authenticity of the threat.
On August 29, security was tightened at the Patna Civil Court after the authorities there received a bomb threat via email.
Patna (Central) SP Diksha said a bomb disposal team and a dog squad were immediately deployed to conduct a thorough search of the court premises.
“A bomb threat received via email said explosives were planted inside the civil court premises. Security was immediately tightened, and a bomb disposal team and a dog squad were engaged. After a thorough search, nothing was found,” Diksha told reporters.
The operation was carried out without causing any inconvenience to the public, she added.
“Prima facie, the mail appears to be a hoax. The mail also spoke about labourers,” the SP said.
Earlier, a high-security alert was sounded across Bihar on Thursday following inputs suggesting three terrorists from Pakistan entered the state through Nepal.
Bihar Police headquarters issued an alert to all district police and also issued the names and photographs of the terrorists, belonging to the banned terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed.
It was suspected that all of them reached Bihar via Nepal through Araria.
Before that, an ISKCON temple in Mumbai received a threatening email, prompting immediate action by police authorities.
In response to the threat, the police and bomb disposal squad carried out a thorough search of the temple premises to ensure the safety of devotees and staff.
