reminding everyone that the journey can be just as beautiful as the destination.
Shared earlier this month, the clip lists six train routes across India that promise breathtaking views and unforgettable experiences. Whether it is the lush Konkan coast or the snowy peaks of Kashmir, each journey captures a unique side of India’s beauty.
- Mumbai to Goa (Konkan Railways): This journey is one of the most scenic in India, taking passengers through the Sahyadri mountains and along the Arabian Sea. The route includes tunnels, bridges, rivers, and lush greenery, making it a must for anyone who loves nature and train travel.
- Jaisalmer to Jodhpur (Desert Queen): The six-hour ride from Jodhpur to Jaisalmer offers a stunning view of Rajasthan’s desert landscape. Passengers can see golden dunes, camels, and small desert villages that make the journey feel like a scene from an old Indian storybook.
- Kalka to Shimla (Himalayan Queen): Recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage route, this 96 km stretch passes through 102 tunnels and 82 bridges. The five-hour ride offers mesmerising views of pine forests, valleys, and snow-capped mountains, a true Himalayan treat.
- Mandapam to Rameswaram (Sethu Express): This one-hour journey is unlike any other, as the train runs right above the sea on India’s second-longest bridge. It connects the mainland to Pamban Island, offering a rare chance to see waves splashing beneath your feet.
- Siliguri to Darjeeling (Himalayan Railways): Known as the Toy Train of Darjeeling, this vintage steam train winds through tea gardens, hills, and tiny mountain towns. Passengers get to see the mighty Kanchenjunga peak and enjoy a nostalgic ride through one of India’s most iconic routes.
- Jammu to Baramulla (Kashmir Valley Railway): Running through the heart of Kashmir, this route offers breathtaking views of snowfields, rivers, and mountain passes. It is especially beautiful in winter, when the valley turns white and the train feels like it’s gliding through a fairytale.
