Election Results 2025 Maharashtra Local Body Polls Live Updates: Counting of votes for Maharashtra’s municipal councils and nagar panchayats are underway.
The results will bring to a close the two-phase
civic elections held on December 2 and December 21. They are expected to provide an early indication of the balance of power between the ruling Mahayuti and the Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) at the grassroots level.
The contest took on a multi-dimensional character in several pockets, where alliance politics overlapped with local rivalries. In many towns, so-called “friendly fights” played out as partners within the ruling Mahayuti—the Bharatiya Janata Party, the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena, and Ajit Pawar’s Nationalist Congress Party—fielded candidates against one another.
