If there were an Olympic medal for creative storage, Indian mothers would take gold every single time. Need proof? A Mumbai man shared a video on Instagram, and it showed him opening his wardrobe on camera
and any guesses what was inside it? Another cupboard fitted neatly. One look at the clip and the internet went ‘just mother things’.
In the video, the man named Kapil Gadhire opens the first outer cupboard and gestures toward the second one tucked neatly within. Laughing as he records the scene, the man says, “So, so this is what I will open it and you will see what also an Indian mother would do.” Seemingly joined by his friends, he was showing the almirah to his friends, who looked absolutely impressed by the idea. They can be heard laughing out loud, looking at the hack.
He posted the video with the caption “Just Indian mother things,” and within hours, the Internet understood exactly what he meant. After all, it is the universal truth that in Indian households, moms can turn any space into storage magic.
Lots Of Love For Mothers In Comments
The short clip has garnered several reactions from amused viewers who added nostalgia, affection, and a whole lot of jokes to the post, with one of them writing, “Two-factor authentication!” Another person shared their own experience, saying, “Will not lie my mother made my dad do the same with her favourite almirah.”
A user added a sentimental note, “It is her favourite or lucky cupboard.” The reactions kept pouring in, each one funnier or sweeter than the last. Someone commented, “Mothers are so innocent buddy,” while another person chimed in, “Your Indian mother knows how to live sustainably. She will not throw away stuff just because you do not like it.”
For Some, It Is Smart Work
Someone else praised the practicality, writing, “That is called smart work. That door will last for ten years and the cupboard inside will last for fifty years.”
The clip reminds Indians everywhere of the sweet, funny and resourceful habits that define our households. Moms love preserving things, protecting things and that’s probably the reason it struck a chord with the audience’s heart.
