Yash’s Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups has been in theatres for just two days, but the film is already courting controversy beyond its reviews and box office. Several YouTubers and influencers who posted
negative reviews have received legal notices from the makers. Toxic released on August 26, 2026. Recently, the producers had secured an interim order from a Bengaluru court against the circulation of false or defamatory content about the film.

YouTuber Suraj Kumar took to social media on Thursday to share a screenshot of a legal notice he received over his review of Toxic. The notice was issued by Bengaluru-based Aiplex Software Private Limited on behalf of KVN-Monster Mind Creations LLP, the producer and copyright owner of Toxic: A Fairy Tale For Grown-Ups.
As per the notice, the film’s team had flagged certain content about Toxic that was being shared across digital and online platforms. The notice alleged that the content had been “published, circulated, shared, posted and/or otherwise communicated” online.
The URL mentioned in the notice reportedly leads to Suraj’s review of Toxic, which he uploaded on Wednesday, the film’s release day. The video was still available online at the time of writing.
Another YouTuber named Prashanth Rangaswamy received a legal notice. He shared a post on X that read, “Got legal notice from @TheNameIsYash and @KvnProductions for #Toxic review. I thought he is all macho in real life as well. Looks like he is just another rich and influential person!”
Before the YouTubers, an X influencer was reportedly the first to receive a legal notice from the makers. He received the notice just hours after posting his negative review of Toxic on X. His post in Tamil read, “Yennada Court Notice ellam Anupureenga!!! (Why are you sending court notices and all, man?”)
The notice says Aiplex has been authorised by the producers to deal with online content related to Toxic. This includes sending legal and takedown notices, asking platforms to block or remove content, and making requests to search engines and other online services.
According to the letter shared by Suraj, Aiplex’s authorisation is valid from July 13 to September 26. However, the notice does not mean that a court has ordered Suraj to remove his review. It has been sent by Aiplex on behalf of the film’s producers.
The notices came days after the producers approached a Bengaluru court over online content about Toxic. According to PTI, the Additional City Civil and Sessions Court in Bengaluru passed an ex-parte temporary injunction on August 22. The order restrains the publication or circulation of content about the film that is false or defamatory.
The case was filed by KVN Productions LLP against several parties, including X Corp, as well as an unidentified “John Doe” representing people whose identities were not known at the time. The order is temporary and will remain in place until the next hearing on September 28.
The court also said the order cannot be used for anything beyond what it was granted for. It added that the injunction could be cancelled without further notice if the producers did not follow the conditions laid down by the court. The producers had sought the injunction under Order 39, Rules 1 and 2 of the Code of Civil Procedure.
Toxic: A Fairy Tale for Grown-Ups is a gangster film directed by Geetu Mohandas and jointly produced by Venkat K. Narayana and Yash through KVN Productions and Monster Mind Creations LLP respectively. It stars an ensemble cast including Yash, Kiara Advani in the lead role alongside Nayanthara, Huma Qureshi, Tara Sutaria, Rukmini Vasanth and Akshay Oberoi.
