When the AC is on, the radiator fan keeps running. If the fan blades rotate in water, they can break, or even if they don’t, they will pull more water inside. This is harmful to your engine and other electronic parts. The more water that gets in, the higher the chances it will reach the air intake.”
“You don’t need to keep revving the car unnecessarily. The silencer being underwater does not affect the car. The real risk is the air intake — that’s where the car “breathes” from. Do not let water reach there. Many people press the accelerator hard to move faster in water, but that is wrong. The more you accelerate, the stronger the suction becomes, and this increases the chance of water entering the engine,” the creator added.

The user explained that if floodwater goes above your headlights or the bumper, the safest option is to leave the car off unless there is a serious emergency. This is because most vehicles have their air intake at that level and once water enters, it can damage the engine badly. If the water goes over the bonnet and the car stops on its own, it’s a clear sign that water has already entered the air intake. In such a case, you should not try to restart the engine. Turning it on at that point can lock the engine completely, which may lead to major damage and costly repairs.
