Deepika Padukone is the proudest wife right now. The Bollywood actress has shared a heartfelt review of her husband Ranveer Singh’s latest film, Dhurandhar, praising both the actor and the production.
Her endorsement comes as the film continues to gain momentum at the box office following a moderate start.
Taking to Instagram Stories on Friday, Deepika wrote, “Dhurandhar has been watched and is worth every minute of those 3.36 hours. So do yourself a favour and get to the cinema hall now!” She also expressed pride in her husband, adding, “So incredibly proud of you, Ranveer Singh,” followed by a kiss emoji. The actor further congratulated the entire cast and crew for the film’s release.
Dhurandhar opened across 5,000 screens in India, initially recording morning show occupancy of just under 16%. However, positive word of mouth quickly boosted viewership, with afternoon shows reaching over 28% occupancy. By 6 pm, the film had collected ₹17.44 crore net, surpassing early trade expectations of ₹15–18 crore for its opening day. Analysts now predict the film could cross ₹20 crore net by the end of the day.
The film follows Intelligence Bureau Chief Ajay Sanyal, played by R. Madhavan, who leads a high-stakes mission to dismantle a terror network in Pakistan. Ranveer Singh portrays a 20-year-old Punjabi youth recruited from prison and trained to infiltrate Karachi’s criminal underworld. Filmed across Thailand, Mumbai, Punjab, and Ladakh between July 2024 and October 2025, the film has a runtime of 214 minutes, making it one of the longest theatrical releases in India.
Dhurandhar has drawn attention for its ambitious scale and intense subject matter. The CBFC granted it an ‘A’ certificate, citing depictions of the IC-814 Kandahar hijacking alongside references to the 2001 Indian Parliament attack and Operation Lyari.
Trade analysts project an opening day net collection between ₹18–20 crore, with more conservative estimates around ₹15 crore. Early advance bookings reportedly accounted for over ₹9 crore. Additionally, the announcement of Dhurandhar 2, scheduled for March 19, 2026, sets the stage for a major box office clash with Yash’s upcoming action film Toxic.
