waste can be another person’s treasure. Now, a video shared by a thrifted home style influencer is drawing attention online. She decided to go garbage picking in a wealthy area, not knowing what she might find, and ended up discovering several surprising items along the way.
The clip has caught the interest of viewers who were shocked by what people are willing to throw away. It also sparked conversations around waste, repair, and reuse in everyday life.
A Drive With An Unexpected Plan
The video opens with Claudia Von, a thrifted home style influencer, sitting in her car and speaking directly to the camera. She casually says, “Let’s go garbage picking in a really rich neighbourhood.” Her tone suggests curiosity rather than high expectations. She begins driving through the area, scanning the streets for anything left near trash bins.
After a short while, she spots something that catches her eye. Looking closely, she says, “So that’s interesting, is that a purse? Maybe it’s broken. Maybe we could fix it.” The camera shows a bag placed next to a trash bin. She walks over, picks it up, and adds, “But is somebody throwing this purse away? I think it’s broken.” She takes the bag back to her car to inspect it properly.
Luxury Items Found Near Trash Bins
Once inside the car, Claudia opens the purse and looks surprised. She says, “That’s- this is so random, but is this a Christian Louboutin bag?” She also finds another item from the same brand and a headband inside. Acknowledging what some viewers might think, she adds that some may find it gross to try it on. She then shares an image on screen showing the bag’s price, which is listed as 1,590 dollars, roughly Rs 1.42 lakh.
She continues driving and stops again after spotting more items. Pointing to a folded chair, she says, “Here’s one of those camp folding chairs. So I will take this for whoever wants it.” Soon after, she notices a baby crib and says it looks like a “Restoration Hardware baby and child crib.”
More Surprising Finds Along The Way
As the video goes on, Claudia seems more shocked with each stop. She notices an item partly buried and says, “What is going on? I need to take this. I wasn’t expecting to find anything, but here’s something in the snow. Should I try to dig this out?” The item appears to be a small table.
A little later, she spots another large piece and says, “What is this? Here is a standing desk, which I’m gonna come back and see if I can get.” While walking further, she laughs and says, “It’s funny, I’m on the Santa street and here’s something. I think this is somebody’s bed. That’s a bed, that’s a bed. Okay. All right.”
Before ending, she picks up a portable table with a trash sticker on it and says someone else could make use of it. The caption on the video reads, “Luxury doesn’t disappear when it breaks. Garbage picking in a rich neighborhood!”
