The Sivakarthikeyan-starrer film Parasakthi is having a roller coaster ride at the box office, experiencing sharp dips after a strong opening but picking up pace during the festive period. The political
historical drama, directed by Sudha Kongara, was released in theatres on January 10, 2026. It had a decent opening weekend, collecting approximately Rs 12.5 crore on its first day in India.
Collections saw a significant decline on its third day (first Monday) and fourth day. But the numbers picked up again on its sixth day, crossing the Rs 35 crore India net collection mark during the Pongal holiday.
Parasakthi Box Office Collection
On the opening day, Parasakthi managed to collect Rs 12.5 crore, according to Sacnilk. Despite a slight drop, the film earned Rs 10.1 crore on day 2. It earned Rs 3 crore on the third day. But the huge dip came on the following days, days 4 and 5, when the film collected only Rs 2.6 and Rs 2.55 crore, respectively.
With the sixth day’s earnings, the total collection of Parasakthi stands at Rs 36.25 crore so far. After Thursday, the film’s total worldwide collection sits at Rs 64 crore, and the overseas collection sums up to Rs 21 crore.
Parasakthi Occupancy Rate
The film had an overall 46.02 per cent occupancy on Thursday, January 15, 2026. The morning shows started with a 17.33 per cent occupancy rate overall. The afternoon shows witnessed a hike of 55.25 per cent. Evening shows went up a little higher with 57.61 per cent occupancy, while night shows had a 53.89 per cent occupancy rate.
What Do We Know about Parasakthi?
Set in the 1960s, the story of Parasakthi revolves around two brothers who get involved in the anti-Hindi imposition agitation in Tamil Nadu. The film features an ensemble cast of versatile actors, including Sivakarthikeyan, Ravi Mohan, Atharvaa, Sreeleela, Dev Ramnath, Prithvi Rajan, Prakash Belawadi, Guru Somasundaram, Chetan, and Papri Ghosh. Basil Joseph and Rana Daggubati made cameo roles in the film.
Despite the film receiving mixed reviews, the actors have received widespread appreciation for their performances.
