The leading ladies of Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Raashii Khanna and Sreeleela, have both been in the industry for a while now. The actors, who are paired alongside Pawan Kalyan in the big-ticket Ugadi release,
have built flourishing careers of their own. However, Sreeleela, who is set to star oppositeKartik Aaryan in Anurag Basu’s next, has now opened up about a time when she almost considered quitting acting due to online trolling.
Both Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna were present for a chat with anchor Samu to promote their film, Ustaad Bhagat Singh. During the interaction, they were asked about dealing with social media trolling. Sreeleela spoke candidly about a phase when she was on the verge of quitting, while Raashii shared that things have only worsened over time.
When asked if she was ever afraid of trolling, Sreeleela said, “I did when I first started in this industry. I used to feel so bad about it; I would cry. I even told my mother, ‘I don’t think I’ll be able to do this. Should I go back to school or college?’ I was so sensitive, but now I’m immune to it.”
Raashii added, “I feel it a little bit now because the trolling has gotten intense. I think people pass judgment without really knowing the truth, and I have a problem with that. The character I’ve built for so long, I just fear that…”
Sreeleela, however, believes that audiences today are more discerning. “I feel like people today have an intellect of their own. So even when they see negativity, they think a little,” she said, as Raashii underlined her point, adding, “People write anything just for clickbait, though.”
Sreeleela and Raashii Khanna on the work front
Sreeleela, who debuted in 2019, was recently in the news for graduating with an MBBS degree. The actor will next be seen in Dhanush’s upcoming film and will also make her Bollywood debut with Anurag Basu’s next.
Raashii Khanna, on the other hand, debuted in 2013 and will next be seen in Farzi Season 2, Rowdy and Co, Talaakhon Mein Ek, Bridge, and an untitled film directed by Anees Bazmee.
