Tamil Nadu Election 2026: Vijay’s Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) historic mandate in Tamil Nadu has left political pundits and people shocked. TVK’s 108-seat tally in its poll debut has sparked frenzy
among Vijay’s fans across the state as well as the country.
Vijay has now written to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar seeking time to stake a claim to form the government. He has reportedly sought two weeks to prove the majority on the floor of the Assembly House.
Though the win is largely attributed to Vijay’s aura, one of the architects of the TVK was Kapil Sahu. Earlier, Prashant Kishor helped Vijay with strategy before he moved to fully focus on the Bihar election.
Who Is Kapil Sahu?
Prior to the 2026 breakthrough, Kapil Sahu worked with Prashant Kishor’s Indian Political Action Committee (I-PAC), where he spearheaded political campaigns, data analysis, narrative building, and strategic consulting. Sahu eventually departed I-PAC along with 12 colleagues to launch an independent consultancy, bringing with him a track record of working with parties like the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Sikkim Democratic Front (SDF).
However, Sahu’s defining achievement came with the TVK’s miraculous debut. His strategic resilience was put to the ultimate test when the campaign was hit by a series of high-profile crises, including the tragic Karur stampede that claimed 41 lives, and a media firestorm surrounding Vijay’s divorce and alleged extramarital affairs. Despite these potential derailments, Sahu’s crisis management and narrative control ensured the TVK campaign remained focused and intact, ultimately guiding the party to its historic seat tally.
