Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has cancelled all his official engagements scheduled for Tuesday following the fire incident in Lucknow.
The Chief Minister was due to visit Hathras, where he was scheduled
to inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for 143 development projects worth ₹548 crore. He was also expected to chair a review meeting on development works and the law and order situation in Agra later in the day.
The decision came after a fire broke out in Lucknow while Adityanath was attending an official programme in Aligarh.
At the time of the incident, the Chief Minister was addressing an event related to the inauguration and foundation laying of various development projects in the district. According to officials, Adityanath was informed about the fire during the programme. He subsequently curtailed his visit and left for Lucknow immediately.
CM visits incident site
After reaching the state capital, the Chief Minister went directly to the site of the fire in Aliganj and took detailed stock of the situation. He reviewed the developments at the spot and gathered information about the incident.
Yogi meets injured children at KGMU
Following his inspection of the fire site, Yogi Adityanath visited the King George’s Medical University (KGMU), where those injured in the incident were being treated. He met the injured children admitted to the hospital and also interacted with their family members.
The Chief Minister enquired about their condition and took stock of the treatment being provided.
