Vaibhav Sooryavanshi entered the record books on Friday (May 29) by becoming the first uncapped player to score 700 runs in a single edition of the IPL. The 15-year-old left-handed batter from Bihar, who
represents Rajasthan Royals, needed 20 runs in the IPL 2026 Qualifier 2 clash against Gujarat Titans to reach the milestone, and he got there in style by smashing Kagiso Rabada for a four on the second ball of the fourth over in New Chandigarh.

His record was later matched by Yashasvi Jaiswal in IPL 2023. The left-handed batter from Mumbai scored 626 runs in 14 matches for Rajasthan Royals that season.
