Trisha and Vijay have shared a close professional bond for years and have worked together in several popular Tamil films. Their friendship has often remained a talking point among fans.
Trisha Arrived In A Traditional Look
Earlier in the day, Trisha grabbed attention as she arrived at the stadium wearing a turquoise silk saree paired with a cream-coloured blouse. She completed her traditional look with a jasmine gajra wrapped around her hair and kept her makeup minimal. During the event, Trisha was also seen warmly greeting Vijay’s family members. She met the newly sworn-in Chief Minister’s mother, Shobha Chandrasekhar, and sister, Vidya, at the venue. The actress had already made headlines earlier this week after being spotted at Vijay’s Chennai residence when TVK’s election victory became clear.
Vijay’s Historic Political Win
Vijay, officially known as C. Joseph Vijay, was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu on May 10, 2026. The ceremony at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium marked a major political shift in the state.
Leading his party Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK), Vijay emerged as the single largest force in the 2026 Tamil Nadu Assembly elections with 108 seats. The result ended nearly six decades of political dominance by the DMK and AIADMK.
Although TVK initially fell short of the majority mark in the 234-member Assembly, Vijay later secured support from smaller parties and independent MLAs to form the government.
His swearing-in ceremony drew massive crowds and several film personalities, reflecting the scale of his popularity beyond cinema.
