Olajide Olayinka Williams Olatunji, better known as KSI, returned to India for the third time and has been busy with multiple projects here. The British influencer is on a mission to ‘take over’ YouTube
in 2026, improve his Bollywood knowledge and ‘give back to the land’, featuring one of his biggest audiences.
KSI, with over 100 million followers across YouTube and other social media platforms, is already winning hearts with his content schedules. Amid a list of collaborations, he sat down for a candid conversation and spoke at length about his return to YouTube and India. Talking about the love he receives from the country, the YouTuber told The Hollywood Reporter India, “It’s one of my biggest audiences. I feel like I have to give back whenever I can. I always have a good time here.”
He continued, “It’s my third time now, and I love it. It’s (India is) like my second home. I’ve come here more times than I’ve been to Nigeria, but I’m working on going there more often. But yeah, I just love India, and I’ll keep coming back whenever I can.”
KSI On 2026 Being The Right Time For His Return To YouTube
The internet sensation started hid YouTube journey in 2008 with JideJunior, with gaming and rap videos. The following year, he created his now-famous YouTube channel KSI Olajidebt and finally, in 2013, came the British YouTube group, Sidemen. Over the years, he has etched his name as a successful YouTuber, rapper, boxer, TV personality, businessman and more.
When asked about his return this year, he revealed that after losing a boxing match with Tommy Fury, he was “lost”, and added, “It took a while for me to get over that. I even tried to get back into boxing, but my heart wasn’t really in it.”
He shared that this was when he reached a point where he had to ask himself about his calling. He then realised that “the last time I fully focused on YouTube was probably up until 2017 or 2018. After that, I got busy with the music, boxing and more. I realised it was time to focus all my efforts on YouTube because it’s what I love. I don’t see it as work; I see it as fun. The enjoyment of making great content is unparalleled, and seeing people’s reactions to the videos brings me the most joy. That’s why I had to come back to YouTube.”
KSI On Improving His Bollywood Knowledge
In the same conversation, the YouTuber added, “When it comes to Bollywood, I definitely need to improve my knowledge; it’s not really up to par. But I’m always open to watching more Bollywood films. I already have a huge list of things that I need to watch.”
Aamir Khan, with whom he shot a video, also suggested that he watch Lagaan. “I can’t wait to watch that because I think it’s sick that I get to get movie recommendations from an absolute legend like Aamir. I’m an open book, so I’m open to learning and improving my Bollywood knowledge,” he added.
KSI On Signing An Indian Film
He was also asked whether he has any Indian films in his pipeline. “You never know. I’ve been in one movie called Laid in America, which… wasn’t great. But you never know. My focus right now is purely on YouTube. I want to stop the distractions and make the best content with the best people and have a great time entertaining the masses,” he responded.
KSI’s Ongoing Collaborations In India
In just a couple of days in India, KSI, with his brother Deji Olatunji, also known as Comedy Shorts Gamer, has been recording “as much content as physically possible”. He has already filmed a ‘Guess the cricketer’ video with Shubman Gill, a ‘Guess the Bollywood actor’ video with Aamir Khan and Vir Das, two ‘Try Not To Laugh’ videos with Samay Raina, Tanmay Bhatt, Ajey Nagar a.k.a CarryMinati and Abhishek Malhan a.k.a Fukra Insaan, alongside reels and shorts. He also hosted a fan meet in Delhi on January 10.
