Recently, she won at the Telangana Gaddar Film Awards for The Girlfriend, and in her speech, she reflected on how she came to Telugu cinema as a daughter but has now become their daughter-in-law. Rashmika Mandanna got married to Vijay Deverakonda earlier this year.
While receiving the award, Rashmika said (translated), “When I came here, you took care of me like a daughter. Now, I stand before you officially as a daughter-in-law.” She also reflected on the “long, long way” she has come as an actress and said, “Earlier, I used to get trolled for my performance. But today, I have received a state award for my performance.”
Her entry into Telugu films came with Chalo, opposite Naga Shaurya. The romantic comedy was a commercial success and introduced her to Telugu audiences as a fresh and promising talent. However, it was her very next film, Geetha Govindam, alongside Vijay Deverakonda, that proved to be a game-changer.
The film became a blockbuster, and Rashmika’s portrayal of Geetha earned her widespread acclaim. Following this breakthrough, Rashmika continued to deliver hits and memorable performances. Films like Dear Comrade, again with Vijay Deverakonda, showcased her ability to handle emotionally intense roles.
She further strengthened her position with big-ticket entertainers such as Sarileru Neekevvaru, starring Mahesh Babu, and Bheeshma, opposite Nithiin. One of the biggest milestones in her Telugu career came with Pushpa: The Rise, where she starred opposite Allu Arjun.
Her role as Srivalli became hugely popular, and the film’s massive pan-India success further cemented her status as a leading star. Over the years, Rashmika has built a reputation for balancing commercial entertainers with performance-driven roles, making her one of the most sought-after actresses in the industry.

Meanwhile, she also recently tied the knot with her long-time love, Vijay Deverakonda. Ahead of their reception in Hyderabad, an emotional Vijay told the media, “The Telugu states now have a new daughter-in-law. Please take care of her.” Rashmika and Vijay tied the knot on February 26, 2026. They had been dating for quite some time before their wedding.
