Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan’s next film has been officially announced. The makers shared the poster along with the announcement. However, the details have not disclosed. It has been one of the most-awaited
films of the year. After many years, the two legends will be collaborating on the project.
Taking to their Instagram handle, Red Giant movies shared the poster in which we can see a vintage car and a date 21.02.2026. The details will be out on February 21. This has left fans super excited. One of the fans wrote, “Thalaivar + Aandavar = THAANDAVAR”. Another wrote, “12 Thalaivar Birthday 07 Ulakanayakan Birthday 12:07”

Rajinikanth And Kamal Haasan Wrap Up 80s-Style Promo Shoot
According to the latest reports, the promo shoot for Thalaivar174 has reportedly been completed. If rumours are to be believed, the makers have filmed a special teaser featuring both superstars in a vintage 1980s-inspired style. Pinkvilla has quoted a report by Valai Pechu, “Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan have recently wrapped up an ’80s-style promo shoot for their upcoming movie. The promo reportedly features both actors in vintage looks, embarking on a car ride together. The promo is said to show Rajinikanth tossing car keys to Kamal Haasan in his signature style, with Kamal catching them mid-air before the two get into the vehicle together. As they sit inside the car with trademark swagger, they drive off on an adventurous ride.” However, no official confirmation has been issued by the makers.
What Lies Ahead For Thalaiva
On the work front, Rajinikanth is gearing up for Jailer 2, the sequel to Nelson Dilipkumar’s 2023 blockbuster. The upcoming film is expected to raise the stakes significantly, with Muthuvel Pandian facing even more formidable threats. Mohanlal and Shiva Rajkumar are likely to reprise their roles, while Mithun Chakraborty and Vidya Balan are also expected to play key parts.
Kamal Haasan’s Recent Works
Haasan was recently seen in films like Thug Life, Vikram and Kalki 2989 AD. He also made a powerful comeback with Indian 2. In 2025, Kamal starred in Mani Ratnam’s Thug Life, which is currently streaming on OTT giant Netflix.
