Varun Chakaravarthy will lead India’s spin attack in the fifth T20I against Australia, which is set to be played at The Gabba in Brisbane on Saturday (November 8). In the last match of the series, Chakaravarthy,
who tops the ICC T20I bowler’s rankings, will have a chance to enter his name in the history books by becoming the fastest Indian bowler to take 50 wickets in T20Is. As of now, he has 45 wickets to his credit in 28 matches.
If he manages to dismiss at least five Australian batters in the fifth T20I, then he will break Kuldeep Yadav’s record.
Kuldeep, who has 88 wickets to his credit in 49 T20Is played so far, picked up his 50th T20I wicket in the 30th match he played against the West Indies in Guyana on August 8, 2023.

If he manages to take at least one wicket in the fifth T20I, then he will become the first Indian and overall fifth bowler in the world after Tim Southee, Lasith Malinga, Shakib Al Hasan and Shaheen Shah Afridi to dismiss at least 100 batters in all three formats of the game.
Bumrah, who tops the ICC Test bowler’s rankings, has 226 wickets to his name in 50 Tests, and in 89 ODIs played so far, he has picked up 149 wickets.
