Akshay Kumar was seen at Mumbai’s Juhu Beach on Sunday morning, September 7, taking part in a beach cleanup drive organised a day after Ganpati Visarjan. Joining him in the initiative were Amruta Fadnavis,
wife of Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis, and BMC Commissioner Bhushan Gagrani.
Videos widely shared on social media captured Akshay Kumar actively picking up waste left behind after the immersion and placing it in bags alongside other volunteers. Amruta Fadnavis and several citizens also participated in the drive.
Highlighting the importance of collective responsibility, Akshay said, as quoted by IANS, “Wisdom teaches us to maintain cleanliness. Our Prime Minister has also stressed that cleanliness is not just the government’s or BMC’s duty, but a shared responsibility of the public too.”
Amruta Fadnavis added, “PM Modi was the first leader to give people the message of maintaining cleanliness through the Swachhta Abhiyan. The number of people who now step forward for such drives reflects the awareness created under his guidance.” Take a look at the photos here:

Akshay Kumar donates Rs 5 crore for Punjab floods
Akshay Kumar stepped forward with a contribution of Rs 5 crore to aid relief and rehabilitation work for the devastating Punjab floods. He humbly called this gesture “sewa, not donation.”
Speaking about pledging the amount, Akshay Kumar said in a media statement, “I maintain my view on this. Yes, I am giving Rs 5 crore for buying relief material for the Punjab flood victims, but who am I to ‘donate’ to anyone? I feel blessed when I get an opportunity to extend a helping hand.”
The Bollywood superstar added, “For me, it’s my sewa, my very small contribution. I pray that the natural calamity that has struck my brothers and sisters in Punjab passes soon. Rab mehr kare.”
