Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday targeted the Opposition during his address in Vadodara, saying that “truth will defeat jhooth ki goonj” or the “echo of lies”.
Addressing the gathering, Modi said
those who try to mislead people with what he described as the “jhooth ki goonj” could be found everywhere, but India’s youth was guided by truth.
“Those who mislead with the ‘Jhooth Ki Goonj’ can be found at every crossroad, but the youth of India moves by the roar of truth, walks with the roar of truth, and marches for the roar of truth,” Prime Minister Narendra Modi said.
PM Modi connects with Gujarat youth
Modi addressed Gujarat’s youth in Vadodara while inaugurating development projects worth more than Rs 20,000 crore.
His long-standing ties with the region and his focus on development were highlighted as part of what was described as a significant homecoming, with an emphasis on a vibrant future for Gujarat.
The Prime Minister also spoke about the benefits of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor and the movement of goods through freight trains.
PM Modi On ‘Naraz Phupha’
Taking a swipe at critics of the freight corridor, Modi said a single freight train could carry cargo equivalent to the load transported by more than 250 trucks.
“By running this single freight train, cargo equivalent to the load of more than 250 trucks was transported from Mumbai to Vadodara in just one trip,” Modi said.
He then took a jibe at the Opposition describing them as “naraz foopha ji”.
“Now, those ‘naraz phupha ji’ will start shouting: ‘What will happen to the truckers? Where will the trucks go? What will happen to those who bought trucks?’” Modi said.
Freight, passenger train services flagged off
During his visit, Modi flagged off freight train services as well as a new passenger train service between Tanda Road and Vadodara’s Pratapnagar.
He also laid the foundation stones for development projects worth more than Rs 35,000 crore.
The projects included three key sections of the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor, along with railway projects, highway projects and projects of the Gujarat government.
