Actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) president Vijay’s final film Jana Nayagan’s release has been struggling to get a green signal from the CBFC. The movie, which was supposed to release on January
9, didn’t get a certificate from the CBFC, and now HT report has it that the HC will deliver its verdict in the case on January 27.
The last update on the case had it that the Madras HC heard both the CBFC’s and the producer’s arguments on January 20 and reserved the order following the stay order on the judgment passed by a single judge at the HC on January 9. The bench will now pronounce its orders on Tuesday.
Producers of Jana Nayagan on the film’s delay
Venkat K. Narayana of KVN Productions shared a video message on Instagram, opening up about the emotional toll the delay has taken on the team. “This has been an extremely emotional and difficult moment for everyone who has poured their heart, soul, and years of hard work into this film,” he said. Emphasising the significance of the project, he added, “Above all, we firmly believe that Thalapathy Vijay sir deserves the farewell he has earned through decades of love from his fans.”
Jana Nayagan was supposed to hit theatres on January 9 but was then postponed due to certification issues. “It is with a heavy heart that we share this update with our valued stakeholders and audiences. The release of Jana Nayagan, eagerly awaited on January 9, has been postponed due to unavoidable circumstances beyond our control,” the makers announced earlier this month.
“We deeply understand the anticipation, excitement, and emotions surrounding this film, and this decision has not been an easy one for any of us. The new release date will be announced at the earliest. Until then, we humbly request your patience and continued love. Your unwavering support is our greatest strength and means everything to the entire Jana Nayagan team,” the statement added.
