The United States on Wednesday intensified its military campaign against Iran with fresh strikes targeting the southeastern port city of Chabahar, where a watchtower at the strategic Shahid Kalantari Port
was hit, sending massive plumes of smoke billowing into the sky.
According to Iranian state media, the watchtower in Chabahar, located in Sistan and Baluchestan province along the Gulf of Oman, was among the targets struck during the latest wave of US attacks.

This was the second US missile strike on the Chabahar watchtower, which is a civilian facility used for maritime security and fishermen’s search-and-rescue operations.
Authorities also reported heavy strikes across Sistan and Baluchestan province, where Iran’s Health Ministry said more than 260 people were wounded in overnight attacks, marking a significant escalation in the conflict between Washington and Tehran.
US Strikes Bushehr, Bampur
Meanwhile, Bushehr Governor Mohammad Mozafari said four locations in the western port city were struck by the US military on Tuesday. According to Iran’s official IRNA news agency, the attacks caused no casualties.
“Rescue agencies are currently alert, and calm is prevailing in the city,” Mozafari said.
Iran’s army also accused the United States of launching 13 missiles at a military barracks in Bampur, near Iranshahr, before dawn on Wednesday. The strike reportedly hit accommodation buildings and guard posts, killing seven military personnel, including career soldiers and conscripts, while wounding several others.
Warning of retaliation, the Iranian military said, “The retaliation for the blood of the martyrs of this crime is certain and imminent,” adding that it would deliver a “decisive response” to the attack.
Government spokesperson Fatemeh Mohajerani said on X that more than 30 civilians had been killed in recent strikes across southern Iran.
US Reimposes Blockade On Iranian Ports
The latest attacks came as the US military reimposed a blockade on Iranian ports early Wednesday following Tehran’s attacks on vessels attempting to transit the Strait of Hormuz. US Central Command said it carried out another wave of strikes lasting seven hours, targeting dozens of sites across Iran.
Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps warned that the renewed blockade could disrupt regional energy exports.
“The export of oil and gas from the region will be either for everyone or for no one,” the IRGC said, signalling the potential for wider disruption to global energy supplies as the conflict deepens.
