Add Bajra to your diet
Diwekar advised her followers to add bajra (pearl millet) to their meals at least once a week. Whether that is in the form of roti, ladoo, raab, or sheera is completely optional. But the nutritionist said consuming bajra weekly helps counter hair fall, boosts your immune system and keeps you energetic for long.
While healthy, Bajra does feel heavy to some. To aid its digestion, the nutritionist suggested adding an extra teaspoon of ghee, mixing 1 tsp of makhan into the atta and combining the flour with 50 per cent rice flour. It makes the roti lighter to eat. She also advised replacing your heavy desserts with a piece of jaggery. “Don’t forget the thumb rule of ending the meal with jaggery,” Diwekar said. Jaggery, if eaten in moderate amounts, helps with digestion as well.
Stretch, Don’t Stress
Diwekar backed her advice to consume Bajra with a suggestion to incorporate a fitness routine and do regular stretching and exercising. You don’t necessarily need intense workouts, the nutritionist says. Even gently training your posterior chain and targeting the muscles running from the heels to the skull will help prevent injuries and support good posture.
Manage Screen Time
The nutritionist then suggested creating a specific screen zone at home. The main aim is to stand and scroll your screen there without taking the phone to the dining table, bed, or bathroom. It helps gradually eliminate mindless scrolling and improves sleep and attention span.
