Karan Johar is totally in the mood to experiment as he steps into the world of creature drama with Kartik-led Nagzilla. This will be followed by a thriller in the same genre with director Sandeep Modi,
and it looks like he has plans to explore even more. As per a recent report,Karan Johar is set to make a horror thriller, and right now the team is busy finding suitable casting for the film.
While the casting for the film is not confirmed yet, a source close to Bollywood Hungama has confirmed that Aditya Roy Kapur has already come on board for the project. “Karan Johar has locked a horror thriller for his banner, Dharma Productions, and has roped in Aditya Roy Kapur to play the lead character. Adi read the script and didn’t take long to come on board. It’s a unique project, and everyone at Dharma is bullish about the theatrical prospects of the genre,” the source shared.
While the update states that the movie will go on floors in May 2026, the source has also confirmed that discussions are at an advanced stage with a female actress to play the lead opposite Aditya Roy Kapur. “The prep work has already begun at Dharma, but the director’s name has been kept under wraps for now,” the source added.

On the professional front, Aditya has several exciting projects lined up. His much-talked-about Netflix fantasy series Rakt Brahmand: The Bloody Kingdom recently made headlines due to rumours of being shelved. However, as per The Times of India, filmmaker Krishna DK firmly dismissed the speculation in June 2025, stating, “We’ve completed the main portions and have begun rehearsals for the action sequences that are to be shot outdoors.” This clarification has reignited interest among fans who are eagerly awaiting Aditya’s next big performance.
