What Inspired The Making Of Ikkis?
Ikkis, directed by the acclaimed Sriram Raghavan and produced by the visionary Dinesh Vijan under Maddock Films, tells the extraordinary true story of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetpal, India’s youngest Param Vir Chakra awardee, whose unparalleled courage during the 1971 Indo-Pak war became a national symbol.
Ikkis – Dharmendra’s Last Film
Dharmendra played the father of Agastya Nanda’s primary character in Ikkis, making it a particularly meaningful undertaking for his loved ones. Sunny and Bobby Deol attended the film and were noticeably moved throughout the evening. Salman Khan, who had a strong relationship with Dharmendra, was also present and was spotted attempting to hold back emotions after encountering the late actor’s poster at the event. Dharmendra’s death has left a vacuum in the Hindi cinema industry, with Ikkis apparently being the last film in which the iconic actor featured. This has brought the project even closer to the hearts of his family, friends, and admirers, who continue to honour his enormous contribution to Indian cinema.
The film stars Agastya Nanda and Simar Bhatia, as well as outstanding performances by Jaideep Ahlawat and the late hero Dharmendra, whose character has developed emotionally. Ikkis is slated to make its big theatrical debut on January 1 and is expected to inspire and excite audiences around the country. Along with the stars, the project will include Sikandar Kher and Deepak Dobriyal in key roles, among others.
