French President Emmanuel Macron was seen making a late-night visit to Mumbai’s iconic Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Terminus (CST) railway station, where visuals show him walking through the historic premises
under tight security.
The French leader appeared relaxed as he moved around the station complex, observing the architecture and surroundings while officials accompanied him during the brief stop.
The heritage structure, one of Mumbai’s designated heritage buildings, formed a striking backdrop as Macron’s visit added a cultural moment to his otherwise diplomacy-focused India tour.
In the video, Macron is seen strolling across sections of the station, pausing to look around the illuminated interiors and exteriors of the landmark.
Security personnel maintained a controlled perimeter as railway authorities and officials escorted him through the premises.

The late-night visit came after a day packed with bilateral engagements and public appearances in Mumbai.
MACRON’S MORNING JOG DRAWS ATTENTION
Before his visit to the CST station, the French President had surprised Mumbaikers by joining morning walkers during a jog along Marine Drive.
Wearing a navy blue T-shirt and sunglasses, Macron continued his fitness routine despite being on an official foreign visit.
The jog proceeded peacefully with minimal disruption from locals and media, as security personnel accompanied him along the route.
The unusual public appearance quickly gained attention, becoming one of the most talked-about moments of his Mumbai visit.
WHAT MEA SAID ON MACRON’S JOGGING
Commenting on the episode, External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal said the gesture carried a broader message.
“Mumbai hosts several marathons. And to have this sort of public exposure centred around health conveys a very good message to the youth of India and the youth across the world,” he said during a media briefing.
“I think that is the sentiment with which we should take this particular idea of President Macron jogging in Mumbai,” he added.
MACRON ON INDIA-FRANCE PARTNERSHIP
During the India-France Innovation Forum, Macron emphasised the depth of bilateral cooperation, particularly in defence and technology.
“In the field of defence, France is a steadfast partner of Make in India. Our high-level cooperation allows us to develop next-generation engines, multi-role helicopters, advanced combat aircraft, submarines, etc.,” he said, adding that the partnership reflects “two great nations choosing each other on land, at sea, and in the sky, not by default but by conviction.”
He further noted that cooperation extends beyond defence, stating that innovation should improve everyday life and make it “healthier and safer.”
WHAT PM MODI SAID ON BILATERAL TALKS
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, following bilateral discussions in Mumbai, highlighted the growing strategic alignment between the two countries.
“Ours is a partnership for global stability and progress. We discussed cooperation in industry, defence, clean energy, space, and emerging technologies,” PM Modi wrote in a post on X, adding that both nations would strengthen startup and MSME networks, promote researcher exchanges, and establish new joint innovation centres.
MACRON INVITES PM MODI TO G7 SUMMIT
Amid the diplomatic talks, Macron invited Prime Minister Modi to attend the 52nd G7 Summit to be hosted by France in 2026.
Calling the year a period of “acceleration for our partnership,” Macron said the two sides aim to build consensus on major global issues ahead of the summit in Evian.
He said the initiative would help establish “concrete areas of agreement on the international agenda” while also creating opportunities for youth-focused innovation exchanges involving India, France, and G7 partners.
