A Bengaluru police inspector has filed an FIR against a woman who repeatedly harassed him with love messages and threats of self-harm, authorities confirmed. The unusual case unfolded in Ramamurthy Nagar,
where the inspector became the target of persistent attention from the woman.
The woman, identified as Sanjana alias Vanaja, aged between 39 and 40 years, and married, allegedly contacted the inspector from 11 different phone numbers, sending constant messages declaring “Love you… love you” and demanding that he reciprocate her feelings. No details about her husband have been shared. The police inspector, who is 45 years old and unmarried, reportedly continued to ignore the messages before filing a complaint. According to reports, she even appeared at the police station in person to deliver love letters.
Sources said the woman repeatedly threatened to commit suicide if the inspector did not respond to her romantic advances. Despite blocking her numbers, the harassment continued, compelling the inspector to take formal action.
Frustrated by the woman’s persistent advances and threats, the inspector lodged a complaint at the Ramamurthy Nagar Police Station, leading to the registration of an FIR under charges related to harassment and threats of self-harm.
The woman reportedly claimed she was a Congress party worker and sent photographs with prominent leaders, including Motamma and Lakshmi Hebbalkar, to assert her influence. She also claimed connections with the Home Minister’s office, though the inspector clarified that no such complaints were made by authorities on her behalf.
In a disturbing development, the woman reportedly sent a love letter written in her own blood, accompanied by a small tablet, stating: “You are not accepting my love. I am committing suicide; it will be your responsibility.” The letter contained a heart symbol and the words “Chinni love u, u love me.”
Ultimately, the inspector, unable to tolerate the harassment, filed the FIR against the woman, marking the case as an official criminal complaint. The matter is now under investigation by the Ramamurthy Nagar Police.
