The IPO was subscribed 22.19 times, with investors bidding for more than 438 crore shares against about 19.75 crore shares on offer. Total demand, including the anchor investor allocation, crossed Rs 7 lakh crore, according to figures available ahead of the listing.
Qualified institutional buyers (QIBs) led the subscription, bidding 70.55 times the shares reserved for the category. The non-institutional investor segment was subscribed 14 times, while the retail investor portion received bids for 2.72 times its allotted shares.
The overall demand also surpassed the ₹4.4 lakh crore in bids reportedly received by LG Electronics India, underlining investor appetite for the telecom and digital services major.
Jio Platforms IPO Listing: Issue Price And Expected Market Valuation
Jio Platforms fixed its final issue price at Rs 1,119 per share, the upper end of its price band of Rs 1,065-Rs 1,119. The company is scheduled to list on the National Stock Exchange (NSE) and BSE on Wednesday.
At the final issue price, Jio Platforms commands an implied market capitalisation of about Rs 10.3 lakh crore. Its actual market value following the debut will depend on the price at which the shares begin trading and subsequent market movements.
Jio Platforms IPO GMP Today: What Does The Grey Market Indicate?
In the unofficial grey market, Jio Platforms shares were commanding a premium of around Rs 248 over the issue price ahead of listing. At this premium, the stock’s implied listing price would be about Rs 1,367 per share, representing a potential gain of about 22.2% over the issue price of Rs 1,119.
However, the grey market premium (GMP) is an unofficial and speculative indicator of investor sentiment. It is not a guarantee of listing gains, and the actual listing price may differ significantly from the implied price suggested by the grey market.
Jio Platforms IPO: What Are Analysts Saying?
With the stock set to debut following robust subscription demand, market experts have pointed to Jio Platforms’ leadership in India’s wireless broadband market, proprietary technology capabilities and opportunities in artificial intelligence (AI), enterprise digital services and fixed broadband.
Narendra Solanki: Investors Can Hold Shares For The Long Term
Narendra Solanki, Head of Fundamental Research – Investment Services at Anand Rathi Shares and Stock Brokers, said Jio Platforms’ strong competitive position and growth opportunities support its long-term investment case.
“Jio Platforms Limited is India’s largest digital connectivity and digital services platform with a unique combination of market leadership, proprietary technology capabilities and an integrated digital ecosystem,” Solanki said.
He highlighted the company’s 533.3 million customers and approximately 49.8% share of India’s wireless broadband market, noting that its technology stack, extensive distribution network and established brand provide significant competitive advantages.
However, Solanki also flagged regulatory requirements, spectrum needs, technological disruptions and cybersecurity threats as risks investors should monitor.
On valuations, he said Jio Platforms was valued at 34.3 times its FY2026 price-to-earnings (P/E) ratio and 14.8 times its FY2026 enterprise value-to-EBITDA ratio at the upper issue price.
“Considering its leadership position in India’s digital ecosystem, strong profitability, scalable technology platform, robust growth prospects and significant opportunities in AI, enterprise digital services and fixed broadband, the valuation appears reasonable relative to its long-term growth potential,” he said.
Solanki advised investors who receive allotments to consider holding the shares for the long term.
“On listing, investors may continue to hold the shares for long term,” he added.
Mahesh M Ojha: Jio Platforms Has Strong Long-Term Growth Potential
Mahesh M Ojha, vice-president (research and business development) at Kantilal Chhaganlal Securities Pvt. Ltd., said Jio Platforms’ transition from a telecom operator to a technology-led digital services company makes the IPO a significant event for India’s digital economy.
According to Ojha, the company handles around 60% of India’s wireless data traffic and serves 533.3 million customers, positioning it to benefit from the country’s expanding digital economy.
He also highlighted Jio Platforms’ proprietary technology stack and patent portfolio, which he believes strengthen its competitive position and support profitability.
Ojha cited the company’s EBITDA margin of 51.91% and net leverage of 0.36 times in FY2026 as indicators of its financial strength. He said the company’s future growth could be driven by tariff increases, rising per-capita data consumption and the expansion of fixed broadband services such as JioFiber and JioAirFiber.
On valuations, Ojha said Jio Platforms was trading at a post-IPO FY2026 P/E ratio of around 34.4 times at the upper price band of ₹1,119, compared with approximately 40 times for Bharti Airtel.
While noting regulatory changes and future capital requirements as potential risks, he said the company’s market position and growth prospects supported its long-term investment case.
Ojha expects the stock to deliver listing gains of around 20–22%, although actual performance will depend on market conditions and investor demand at the time of listing.
He said the stock could appeal to short-term traders seeking listing gains, while long-term investors could consider its potential for sustained earnings growth and wealth creation.
